Helping students to develop their talents and to put forth top-notch college applications is what drives David. He brings a host of private sector experiences in education, editing and counseling to helping Bay Area students overcome obstacles to higher education.
Last year, David’s consulting students exceeded all odds, gaining admission to Stanford, Columbia, Dartmouth, UC Berkeley EECS, Swarthmore, and other elite institutions. He oversaw quality control of essays and applications at a rival firm as a regional director before finding his home at TTL.
David has worked extensively with the admissions, student life, and study abroad offices of Pomona College, and currently serves as an alumni admissions interviewer. Other academic accolades he has earned include a Freeman-ASIA Award and The Psychology Prize.
After graduation, David worked with ASA at Stanford University before spending two years as a mental health counselor. Seven years in Shanghai found David managing advertising copy for the East China region at a major media group, and working in education with Shanghai International Studies University, Wall Street English, Berlitz, Marriott, Starwood Group and Disney.
David’s trifecta of skills in academic advising, high-level professional writing/editing, and education translate into confident consulting and winning applications for TTL students.
“I love guiding students through the transformative quest that applying to college presents. Soul searching, story telling and grueling editing are at the heart of the process. Self discovery and compassionate involvement in the world figure prominently.”
