Miguel has always taken a holistic approach to life having been both an athlete and a scholar. He grew up in Ft. He ranked 100 in the world in the 100 meter backstroke. He earned a B.A. in History with a minor in Business Administration.
Following graduation, he moved to Munich, Germany and worked for Siemens AG in the telecom and finance divisions. After obtaining his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago he became a Portfolio Manager living in Baar, Switzerland and was later recruited by Huawei Technologies to help establish their sales finance division in Shenzhen, China. His corporate career took him to over 50 countries and 300 cities and reinforced his belief in the value of a good education.
Throughout his career, Miguel was always partial to mentoring junior managers and taking a particular interest in pushing talented individuals to reach their potential and further their education. With his tutelage, his protégés have been admitted into the MBA programs of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, The London School of Economics, and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
This motivated him to make a career change into the educational field. Over the past 3 years he has counseled, guided, and mentored Chinese high school students with equally impressive results. His students have been accepted into top universities like Columbia University, New York University, Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Boston University, and Emory University.
