Susan grew up in Los Angeles, the daughter of a writer and a UCLA professor. She distinguished herself at UCLA, graduating with a B.A. in History – Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and Pi Gamma Mu. After completing her J.D. at Loyola Law School, Susan was admitted to the State Bar of California, and served as a Santa Monica elected official during the 1980s.
Susan was the director of a small, independent, college-preparatory high school in Santa Monica for nearly thirty years, where she helped countless students gain admission to the college or university of their dreams. She has two grown sons: one is an attorney, admitted to the State Bar of California, who attended UCLA as a Regents’ Scholar and UCLA Law School, and the other is a recent graduate of UC Berkeley, where he was also a Regents’ Scholar and the American Studies Program Citation Winner. Susan joined ThinkTank Learning in 2013 – to bring her expertise, unrelenting pursuit of excellence, and dedication to a new generation of high school students.
